Today I read a book to the children, with some handmade props. The book was called the hungry caterpillar and this was great, as we were learning about butterflies. We also did a barefoot walk in mud, pretending we were butterflies that taste with their feet. We also painted their life cycle, various butterflies and flowers. We played a game about butterflies and birds (birds being the predator and butterfly’s being the prey) also I helped make the berry tea and I played fairy princesses and bee princes, with all the children, the children had a lot of fun. At the end of the session, we made whistles out of wood and leaves. It made a kind of kazoo noise, it was great fun. Finally for snacks (we always make a food item to snack on) we made burritos and heated them up on the fire, we did a lot today and it was great fun.
